Needle Valves are generally used to control clean gases and fluids. Needle Valve Manufacturers have designed this valve from two types of body materials: one is Brass and the other one is Stainless Steel. Brass Needle Valves are used in drinking water applications, other non-chemical reacting liquids and non-corrosive fluids. When this valve is to be used for High Pressure media, the manufacturers use Stainless Steel as it is the best material for corrosive media and high pressurized gases. Our HNV-HP model High Pressure Needle Valve’s Body is made from Forged S.S. 304 / 316 and the Bonnet is made from S.S. 304 / S.S. 316. It comes in ¼” to 2” sizes with Screwed End BSP Connections (NPT Connection Available on request). It has a Bubble tight leakage and can sustain pressure up to 1000 PSI.
How Needle Valves work
As mentioned, needle valves are generally used to control the flow of clean gasses or fluids. They are also sometimes used as a shut-off valve. An instrument needle valve uses a tapered pin to gradually open a space for fine control of flow. The flow can be controlled and regulated with the use of a spindle. A needle valve has a relatively small orifice with a long, tapered seat, and a needle-shaped plunger on the end of a screw, which exactly fits the seat.
